Our patrons

We are so very grateful for the continued support of our Royal Patron The former Prince of Wales and our Patron Eugene Sârbu, internationally acclaimed classical violinist who joined us at the beginning of 2019

Our patrons are very important to us and their affiliation with FARA helps further our cause in Romania by raising profile and bringing a commitment to transforming the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people.

From highlighting our important work, visiting programmes, and offering their time and services to the charity, our patrons play an invaluable role in FARA. With our patrons at our side we can achieve great things.

FARA's Royal Patron

The former Prince of Wales, Royal Patron

“I have been greatly impressed by everything that I have discovered about the wonderful work that FARA is doing in Romania.

There is a desperate need for a charity which understands the complex needs of the many abandoned children in that country, and which works with the Romanian people so that these children can eventually play their part in building Romania’s future.

I do believe that FARA is one of the organisations best placed in Romania to achieve this.

FARA has already proved what can be done. Now it needs our help to complete that task.”

Our Royal Patron, The former Prince of Wales, has sent us a short video message congratulating us on having transformed the lives and livelihoods of the most disadvantaged in Romania’s poorest communities on our 30th anniversary.

Eugene Sârbu, Patron

“I admire Jane Nicholson and her tireless work and dedication to helping in such a meaningful way so many poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in Romania, literally transforming their lives. Her efforts and altruism are humbling. It is my honour to be a Patron of FARA Foundation and through music I hope to bring love and happiness to the children. I take this opportunity to wish everyone involved with this wonderful Foundation in Romania and the UK continued success in our noble mission to fulfil every child’s dream.”

It is with immense pleasure that I accepted the invitation to become a Patron of FARA Foundation. Following the breath-taking events towards freedom and democracy in Romania, in 1989, I gave many benefit concerts around the world, to help my beloved country of birth. It is in this context that I had the opportunity to meet Jane Nicholson, the Founder of FARA Foundation. Together with my pianist sister, Carmina Sarbu, we held an emotional fundraising concert for FARA in the early 90’s, in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, at St. James’s Palace in London.”
