The FARA Foundation is a registered charity both in the UK and Romania and has been actively working with orphaned and abandoned children in Romania since 1991 when the deplorable conditions of Romania’s state orphanages were first revealed.

FARA is currently managing a range of childcare programmes for Romania’s damaged children – these include children’s homes, foster care programmes and a specialist learning centre for children with disabilities.



In FARA, we try to set up models of care to rebuild families and make a lasting difference to children’s lives. In Romanian FARA means “without”. The charity is dedicated to transforming the lives of some of the poorest and most marginalised children in Eastern Europe – providing care and education whilst giving Christian values and hope for the future.

By sponsoring a vulnerable child you will be helping FARA to change the lives of many more children.



As a sponsor you are connected with one special child. You will receive a photograph of your child and a progress report every year. Sponsors can also write and send a gift to their child. Your sponsorship will provide a child with nutritious food, healthcare, educational opportunities and a sense of belonging within the FARA family.
