Donate at a FARA Donation Hub

Give your preloved items a new home, and help support vulnerable children and young people.

January is one of the busiest donation seasons of the year. If you’re clearing out wardrobes, toy boxes or passing on unwanted Christmas gifts, we’d love to welcome your donations at FARA.

From Tuesday 6 to Monday 19 January, four of our London shops will become Donation Hubs, giving our teams extra space and time to focus on welcoming donations from the local community during this particularly busy period.

What is a FARA Donation Hub?

Every January, we see a big increase in donations as people start the year with a clear-out. To help manage this seasonal surge, four FARA shops will act as Donation Hubs for two weeks.

Donation Hubs are shops where teams have made additional room and dedicated time to receive, sort and prepare donations during January’s busiest weeks.

All FARA shops continue to accept donations throughout the year. During this fortnight, these four shops are simply set up to welcome and handle January’s higher volume of donations more smoothly in their local areas.

What can I donate?

We’re happy to accept a wide range of good-quality, sellable items, including:

  • Adult and children’s clothing
  • Toys
  • Books for all ages
  • Homeware, small furnishings and bric-a-brac
  • Art, music and collectables
  • Brand-new or unused gifts looking for a new home

If it’s in good condition and something you’d happily pass on to someone else, chances are we’ll be glad to receive it.

Our January Donation Hubs are:

Chiswick Kids

  • 40 Turnham Green Terrace, W4 1QP
  • A few minutes’ walk from Turnham Green station
  • 30am – 5.30pm, every day

FARA Kids Chiswick will remain open for shopping as usual, with extra space set aside to receive and prepare donations throughout the Donation Hub fortnight.

(Our other FARA shops in Chiswick also remain open for shopping as normal.)

Fulham Kids

  • 614 Fulham Road, SW6 5RP
  • Near Parsons Green
  • 9am – 5pm, every day

During the Donation Hub period, FARA Kids Fulham will be closed for shopping but open for donations only, allowing the team to focus fully on receiving and preparing January donations.

(Our other FARA shops in Fulham remain open for shopping as usual.)

Southfields Kids

  • 273 Wimbledon Park Road, SW19 6NW
  • A short walk from Southfields tube
  • 30am – 5.30pm, every day

From 6-19 January, FARA Kids Southfields will be open for donations only as a Donation Hub – the shop will be closed for browsing/shopping. For these two weeks, the whole team will be solely focused on welcoming and sorting donations from the local community.

(Our sister FARA shop in Southfields remains open for shopping as usual.)

Notting Hill Kids

  • 39 Ledbury Road, W11 2AA
  • Near Notting Hill Gate
  • 30am – 5.30pm, every day

At FARA Kids Notting Hill, our upstairs shop will remain open for shopping, while downstairs is dedicated to welcoming and sorting donations during the Donation Hub period.

(Our sister FARA shop in Notting Hill is also open for shopping as usual.)

What to expect when you visit

During the Donation Hub period:

  • Some shops pause shopping so teams can focus fully on donations
  • Some remain open for shopping, with space set aside for donations
  • All other nearby FARA shops continue to trade as usual

There’s no need to book or prepare anything special – just bring what you can, and a member of the shop team will be happy to help.

Why donate to FARA?

When you donate to FARA, your items gain a second life and the money raised from their sale helps us to support projects that provide stability, opportunities, and care for children and families facing poverty and complex challenges in Romania.

  • Already registered with us for Gift Aid? Just tell us your name and address when you donate, and we’ll do the rest.
  • Not signed up yet? Our teams can help you do it in seconds in-shop – it’s simple and free.

FAQs

Do I need to book or let you know I’m coming?
No – just drop in during opening hours with your donation.

Can I donate more than one bag or box?
Yes, absolutely. Donation Hubs are set up to welcome larger clear-outs as well as smaller donations.

Do my donations have to be children’s items?
Not at all. We’re happy to accept adult clothing, homeware, books and more, as well as children’s items at our Donation Hubs during this fortnight.

Can I still donate at other FARA shops?
Yes. All FARA shops continue to accept donations as usual throughout the year.

Don’t have a Donation Hub near you?

No problem – all FARA shops accept donations all year round.

If none of our Donation Hubs are convenient for you, you can still donate at your nearest FARA charity shop.
