FARA has 40 much loved charity shops based in London that fund our programmes, which have been helping disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Romania for the past 30 years. We are growing our marketing team and have ambitious plans to elevate our communications with supporters and key stakeholders, building on our retail footprint to drive greater impact and diversify revenue generation. This role is critical to our success.

The Role:

We are looking for a Social Media and Content Manager with the expertise and experience to develop our social media strategy and manage our output. They will be working closely with stakeholders and colleagues in the UK and Romania to ensure we maximise the potential of social media. They will be FARA’s social media expert and develop content that meets the need of our audiences. The role will also include but not be limited to:

  • Defining growth and engagement targets for FARA’s social media output that align with organizational commercial and awareness goals
  • Developing the social media calendar and content plans with an audience focused approach
  • Proactively managing FARA’s social media channels on a day-to-day basis
  • Liaising with all areas of the organisation to maximise social reach, engagement, acquisition and retention
  • Supporting our shops in the growth and delivery of local social media output
  • Supporting on the development of a supporter communications programme, with a focus on building loyalty and engagement among our retail audience cohort
  • Working with the marcomms team and other stakeholders, oversee the update of website content in line with the marketing calendar and on an ad hoc basis
  • Working with the Marketing Manager – Digital and Data to develop social and website analytics and engagement metrics, to ensure ongoing optimization / rationalization

 

The Candidate:

 

  • Target driven and highly collaborative
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing a social media strategy and output across multiple platforms, with experience of organic and paid social approaches
  • Experience of producing compelling content for social media and other channels, with a passion for creativity and high-impact communication, ideally in a retail or not for profit context
  • Strong copywriting and creative skills, with experience of working with agencies and freelancers to add value to content development as appropriate
  • Experienced at working with influencers on a regular and / or occasional basis to develop long-term relationships and campaign-specific output
  • Confident in reporting on performance against targets, using data and insights from analytics packages to build an understanding of audiences and optimise programmes
  • Experience of a range of social media management tools and confidence to lead for the organisation in negotiating with suppliers and ensuring we have the most appropriate software available for managing output
  • Strong project management and content planning skills, with the ability to focus on both day-to-day delivery and longer-term strategic goals
  • An understanding of audience segmentation and the needs of different segments within a charity and retail context
  • A passion for retail, particularly in the pre-loved and vintage areas, would be highly beneficial.
